."Family Montage"

Pastel, 600x450mm

A commissioned Christmas surprise portrait of 5 treasured family dogs. 2 older dogs who have passed away (top 2 dogs), and 3 dogs who are the current family pets. Photos were found of each of the dogs, and photoshopped to make a montage. The 2 older dogs (top), were from quite blurry photos as these were the only photos the client still had, so it was quite a challenge to bring in some detail that wasn't there in the photos. Top left is a jet Black Labrador named Tchaikovsky (Titch for short) because he howled so much as a puppy!! Missy (top right) was a beardie cattle dog/black lab cross, with lots of grey and brownish colours in her even from very young. Bailey (bottom left) is a Golden Retriever / Border Collie / Koolie (Australian cattle type dog) cross Connor, before he started to go grey, was almost called Jonah because he had two white hairs on his left eyebrow just like an 11, like Jonah Lomu had on his eyebrow!! Connor is a Black Labrador / Staffordshire cross Cully (bottom right) Boxer cross is still a puppy, being born on June 1st 2013
