Although I can’t be there in person, there is a little bit of me in this artwork “Andalusian Stables”, as that is me in the eye’s reflection, taking the photo in a lovely Spanish horse stables / hacienda in Andalusia, where we were fortunate to stay for a few days in January 2018.

Open Edition Giclee Prints available

andalusian horse eye art

Etched with tattoo needles and #11 scalpel blade. The eye was scratched, mostly dot stippled then painted with inks. There is a slight pearlescent shimmer to some of the inks to give the impression of the shine of the horse's eye.

Signing the artwork, prior to varnishing with a gloss uv varnish

Framed in the Larsen Juhl Majorca frame, one of my favourite frames as the silver lines running through it sets off the black of the scratchboards beautifully!
