Article in "Paws for Charity" international magazine
The magazine features artists & photographers from around the world that have contributed to animal sanctuaries and conservation groups through their artwork to help animals in need. Was delighted to get some exposure for HUHANZ and Kaimanawa Heritage Horses ...also the Marlborough SPCA get a small mention too, but that's another story...

Wilson Ornithological Journal
Commissioned Australasian Gannet painting.
A real thrill to see one of my pastel illustration published in an American ornithological journal.
This is for a paper following studies of gender differences in the size and plumage patterns of
Australasian gannets, Cape Kidnappers, NZ.
PETERS DOIG MARLBOROUGH ART AWARDS 2014

Absoutely thrilled "Okarito Kotuku" has been awarded "Second Prize" in this national exhibition
and also very humbled to win the "The Peoples Choice Award"
These were judged
with a panel of 3 judges, out of 160 artworks (awarded The Marlborough Art Society Award of $1000)
Judges' comments:
“A tour de force of fine detail, highly rendered in an exacting medium (scratch board). Bird works can appear static, but this is distinguished by a sense of reality, and the striking impression is of stillness, against a superbly subtle play of dark and light.”

Love From Me 2011 (2 paintings included)
A Cancer Charity Art Book "Love From Me" can be fully previewed and available at Blurb, including two of my paintings
The Paws For Charity Art Book Project was started in 2009 and raised funds for breast cancer charity while celebrating the bond we feel for our pets. Inspirational images donated by 61 artists and photographers from many countries. All funds raised from this project are donated to The Rose Fund, c/o the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is a registered charity to help cancer patients who are facing financial difficulty as a result of dealing with their cancer treatments.

The British magazine "Artists & Illustrators" was very much part of my source of inspiration when taking on my art career more seriously...
3 years later, I am so delighted to be included in this magazine with my painting "Ai Sleepy"

"Art Exchange - June 2010"
Another fellow artist and friend from the UK, Karen Berisford and I decided to do an "art exchange", commission each other if you like. We each chose the subject and medium used. Karen chose a Black Jaguar from one of her treasured photos of her favourite animal, chose pastel as the medium.
I chose a black leopardess, from the same photo I used in a previous painting which sold at my exhibition. Here is a photo of us meeting up in London recently with Karen's painting.
11th September 2009:
I donated an original painting "A Neck Ahead" to the Rapaura School Art Auction.
The painting had an estimated price of $850-$950 and was sold for $1300 on the night.
Orana Park Donation
12th June 2009: I donated a framed Giclee Print of "Vigilance" to Orana Wildlife Park, Christchurch. This is a pastel painting of one of their new male cheetahs, Kiatoa. It was a delight to donate this piece to them, which was very well received, and their enthusiasm was really encouraging! Hopefully there will have many more visits in the near future to get lots of reference photos, particularly of the new
Cheetah cubs and impending Lion cubs! Also found out from Promotions Manager Nathan (pictured below), some information regarding "Tall Blonde" graphite drawing... her name is a female giraffe named "Tunu"
